I have run 12 marathons, 5 since major surgery in 2005. My fastest was Leipzig in 1992. 3 hours 11 minutes 48 seconds. The Mesa-Phx Marathon on February 25, 2017 was the fastest since my surgery at 4:26:59.
Short-Term Running Goals:
I want to improve on my last Marathon time. After the Phoenix Marathon that I ran February 25, 2017 I want to focus on shorter races and do a sprint tri. I did improve about 45 minutes faster on the Mesa-Phx Marathon over the last Petrified Forest Marathon and about 27 minutes faster than the last time I ran the Mesa-Phx Marathon.
Long-Term Running Goals:
Continue to run and work on my speed. Do shorter races and a sprint tri in the next year.
I have been an educator for 32 years. My wife, Margaret, and I have 6 children and at the present time 6 grandchildren. Running helps to keep me level. I love it and hope to continue to run for many years to come.
42:06 with 10:24 pace. 11:10, 10:46, 10:00, and 9:42 with 28 sec. trying to watch more what I eat. It doesn’t stay off the way it used to. Right heel has been tender and I plan to get it checked after my colonoscopy on the 17th.
