Running Accomplishments:

I have run 12 marathons, 5 since major surgery in 2005. My fastest was Leipzig in 1992. 3 hours 11 minutes 48 seconds. The Mesa-Phx Marathon on February 25, 2017 was the fastest since my surgery at 4:26:59.

Short-Term Running Goals:

I want to improve on my last Marathon time. After the Phoenix Marathon that I ran February 25, 2017 I want to focus on shorter races and do a sprint tri. I did improve about 45 minutes faster on the Mesa-Phx Marathon over the last Petrified Forest Marathon and about 27 minutes faster than the last time I ran the Mesa-Phx Marathon.

Long-Term Running Goals:

Continue to run and work on my speed. Do shorter races and a sprint tri in the next year.

Personal:

I have been an educator for 32 years. My wife, Margaret, and I have 6 children and at the present time 6 grandchildren. Running helps to keep me level. I love it and hope to continue to run for many years to come.

PM run70 degrees with slight wind. 29:31 with 9:32 pace. 9:40, 9:30, and 9:28 with 8:51 for last tenth mile. Mile loop. HR 134 with max at 163. Three cars slowed me at the same time and I ran faster to get past them. This loop has a min and max elevation difference of 25 feet but each mile has a total of 45 feet up and 45 down. It is the flattest course I run.

Had been 49 for 9 runs prior to going down to 44 last week. I had run that run 3 hours before my 16 hours of rest was over. I did that so I could get to work on time. I guess need to wait the full rest time.
