Running Accomplishments:

I have run 12 marathons, 5 since major surgery in 2005. My fastest was Leipzig in 1992. 3 hours 11 minutes 48 seconds. The Mesa-Phx Marathon on February 25, 2017 was the fastest since my surgery at 4:26:59.

Short-Term Running Goals:

I want to improve on my last Marathon time. After the Phoenix Marathon that I ran February 25, 2017 I want to focus on shorter races and do a sprint tri. I did improve about 45 minutes faster on the Mesa-Phx Marathon over the last Petrified Forest Marathon and about 27 minutes faster than the last time I ran the Mesa-Phx Marathon.

Long-Term Running Goals:

Continue to run and work on my speed. Do shorter races and a sprint tri in the next year.

Personal:

I have been an educator for 32 years. My wife, Margaret, and I have 6 children and at the present time 6 grandchildren. Running helps to keep me level. I love it and hope to continue to run for many years to come.

Went out to do six miles but was too hot. Walked some at mile 3. Stopped at just over 5 and walked home. 55:43 with eleven min pace.

ELK dash at school. Ran with each grade. Three were a little over 1mile and 2were just over a half mile. Got hot by the end. I ran slowly to talk to the kids. I did the first one with 4th grade and ran a 9:20 mile. All on school grounds.

San Diego. Treadmill so I could be with Margaret working out. I hate treadmills. This one didnít want to cooperate. Slow miles because of that. I had it set for 7 mph but I had to fight it so it looks like slow miles. I worked hard. Driving home soon.
